Virtual Town Hall Meetings on Police Services Continue Tuesday Night

- To gather input regarding the community’s expectations of the role of the police, the City will host a virtual town hall meeting from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021
- Panelists will be City Manager Erik Walsh, Deputy City Manager Maria Villagomez, Assistant City Manager Dr. Colleen Bridger and San Antonio Police Chief William McManus
The City of San Antonio is seeking input regarding the community’s expectations of the role of the police in the community as well as response alternatives for responding to potential calls for service. The City will host a virtual town hall meeting from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021, allowing residents to participate from the comfort and convenience of their homes. Residents can participate by phone or Zoom.
The review process centers around addressing foundational issues, community expectations of interactions with police, community input and response alternatives. Tuesday night, the City of San Antonio will host the second of the several citywide community discussions to gather feedback and allow individuals the opportunity to ask questions.
Panelists will be City Manager Erik Walsh, Deputy City Manager Maria Villagomez, Assistant City Manager Dr. Colleen Bridger and San Antonio Police Chief William McManus.

Residents can also watch live by turning into TVSA channels: AT&T channel 99, Grande channel 20, Spectrum channel 21, digital antenna 16 or the City’s Facebook page. Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided.
The City of San Antonio is hosting virtual district-specific input meetings throughout April and May in collaboration with each of the City’s ten council districts.
In addition to the virtual community meetings, the City will also host a series of citywide virtual community discussions, telephone town hall meetings, a dedicated event for Spanish speakers and a series of meetings with local stakeholder groups.
