About Ricardo:

Ricardo Delgado was born in Punta Arenas, Chile, immigrating to Houston with his family aged 3. He graduated from Katy High School in 2017 and attended Lone Star Community College until 2019. After finishing his associate’s degree, Ricardo transferred to Texas State University at San Marcos to study journalism and minor in political science, where he expects to graduate in the spring of 2021.

In his senior year at Texas State, Ricardo began writing for “The University Star”, the university’s independent, student-run news organization. He writes for the news and sports sections, covering breaking news such as the arrival of Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke to teach at Texas State, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Hays County and weekly basketball, football and soccer games.

Ricardo enjoys playing video games, supporting Houston sports teams, listening to new music, browsing Reddit too much and taking pictures of his dog Leo.
