Stage performances are back in San Antonio. This weekend, the Majestic Theatre, the Overtime Theater, the Carver Community Cultural Center, and Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre offer four unique entertainment options.
Summer: The Donna Summer Musical
The Majestic Theatre is presenting Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, a story of a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven. The Scriptless Sleuths: Time and Crime Again
The Overtime Theater will present The Scriptless Sleuths: Time and Crime Again, a fully improvised murder mystery that takes audience suggestions to create the a unique whodunit with a time-traveling spin. Jess Mahogany: Matters of the Soul through Spoken Word
The Little Carver Intimate Series presents Jess Mahogany: Matters of the Soul through Spoken Word. Healing speaker, actress and poet Jess Mahogany brings illuminating real-life struggles to the stage with her words. Accompanied by various melodies and visual depictions of her poetic work, her show serves as a reminder to listen to the voice within. $25. 8 p.m. April 22 at the Little Carver Theatre. 226 N. The Boomer Boys Musical
Viagra jokes, anyone? Brauntex Performing Arts Theater presents The Boomer Boys Musical, a fun-loving “fat-pack” of middle-aged men who realize the best way to deal with getting older is to laugh about it with your friends. $24-$46. 7:30 p.m. April 22.
