Southtown Sounds: The Good Kind Announces New Live Music Series

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The Good Kind will begin a weekly live music series beginning March 25
  • Carbonlily and Sydney and the SAMS will be the opening-night acts

The Good Kind, the trendy Southtown restaurant known for menu items such as jalapeño pop-oviches and sticky cauliflower tacos, will kick off a weekly live music series beginning March 25. 

The first event will feature Carbonlily, an acoustic act fronted by singer Carla Fikes, from 6-8 p.m. Those who attend this open air concert will definitely enjoy Fikes’ smooth, captivating voice. Preview the band’s sound here.

Sydney and the SAMS, an R&B group originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, is slated to headline from 8-11 p.m. Listen to their soulful entry for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest here.

The family-friendly spot, which also welcomes dogs, offers a full food and botanical cocktail menu in their outdoor garden with a picturesque view of the Tower of the Americas. 

“Great food. Great environment. Perfect for a date, family, kids and pets,” wrote Rick Lara on Facebook about the eatery.

As San Antonio heads into warmer weather, the venue plans to host a variety of local and touring musicians in the series.
