- The San Antonio Parks and Recreation will reopen six outdoor pools beginning Saturday, May 8, 2021
- As capacity is limited, patrons must pre-register online for a swim time and location at saparksandrec.com
On Tuesday, the San Antonio Parks and Recreation announced the reopening of six outdoor pools beginning Saturday, May 8, 2021. Four pools will be open on weekdays and all six pools will be open on weekends. Covid health and safety protocols for staff and pool patrons will be followed and may change based on guidance from local health officials.
According to a City press release, there will be pre-registration for designated swim times to manage capacity, Covid screening upon entry to the pool facility, masks will be required when patrons are not in the pool and there will be extra cleaning and sanitizing of all common areas.
Patrons may pre-register for swim times at saparksandrec.com. The public will have the option to select a pool location and a time slot. Capacities will be limited. For assistance with online registration, individuals may call 210-207-3299. Patrons are asked to come swim-ready, as access to dressing rooms and shower facilities will not be available.

Pools that will open on weekdays and weekends include Woodlawn Pool located at 221 Alexander Avenue, Southside Lions located at 3100 Hiawatha, Heritage located at 1423 South Ellison Drive, and Lady Bird Johnson located at 10700 Nacogdoches. Hours will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Pools that will be open on weekends only include San Pedro Pool located at 2200 North Flores and John F. Kennedy Pool at 3299 S.W. 28th Street. Hours of operation are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
