Although these uncertain times have forced the postponement of Fiesta until November, it’s still possible to keep San Antonio’s tradition alive from the safety of your own home. If you find yourself missing your favorite Fiesta cocktail, Diana Barrios Treviño and Jeret Peña, two of the hospitality industry’s brightest stars, have been kind enough to share their wisdom via a pair of Fiesta-inspired margaritas that will surely liven up your stay-at-home pachanga.

The first recipe on deck is Margarita’s Margarita by Barrios Treviño of Los Barrios Family Restaurants. In case you haven’t heard, they know a thing or two about what makes a fiesta drink not just great, but truly memorable.

  • ¾ oz Cointreau

  • Ice

  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice

  • Fresh orange juice from ½ an orange

  • Salt

Add the ice to your shaker, pour the tequila and Cointreau into the shaker. Add fresh lime juice, followed by fresh orange juice. Drop half of the orange into the shaker. Shake to mix.
