On Thursday, Mayor Ron Nirenberg announced the 2022 Bond Program Tri-Chairs, a move that officially launched the resident-driven process to determine which projects will be recommended to voters.
Berto Guerra, Jamie Kowalski, and Brandon Logan will serve as leaders of the effort, which will feature five citizen bond committees to review the projects.
“The bond program will address many of the City’s infrastructure needs and enhance quality of life,” Nirenberg said in a City press release.
Guerra is the immediate past-chair of the San Antonio Water System board. He served on the board for nine years, leading the utility’s efforts to develop the Vista Ridge pipeline. Currently, Guerra is chairman and CEO of Avanza Interior Technologies.
Kowalski is the vice president of The RK Group, where she spearheads community relations activities, corporate philanthropy, and other strategic initiatives. She started her professional life as a teacher, specializing in dyslexia intervention for struggling readers.
Logan, former chairman of the MLK Committee, is the CEO of Urban Capital Planners, which crafts strategies for enhanced standards of living in inner-city communities. He serves on boards of directors for the Najim Charitable Foundation, Pre-K 4 SA, the San Pedro Parks Foundation, the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, and other organizations.
