The City of San Antonio is currently seeking applicants for two citizen-member positions on the Goal Setting Committee (GSC) for a one-year term of office.

The GSC is chaired by a representative of the city manager and includes staff members from the Economic Development Department (EDD), the Finance Department’s purchasing division, and a representative from the department from where the contract or project is being initiated. Two citizen members also serve on the GSC and vote when reviewing contracts and projects that exceed $3 million and when establishing annual aspirational goals.

According to a City spokesperson, the GSC was created by the Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA) Ordinance to establish aspirational, segmented, and contract-specific tools to promote the utilization of local small, minority, and women-owned businesses on City of San Antonio contracts and projects.
