The popular Lick Honest Ice Creams specializes in bringing honest ingredients to a new generation of ice cream connoisseurs.
With the opening of their San Antonio-based Pearl Brewery shop in 2014, co-founders Anthony Sobotik and Chad Palmatier accomplished that goal and are now continuing with their expansion to a second downtown location.
According to a recent announcement, the company will soon be introducing a second location in The Smith House at Hemisfair Park. The shop's grand opening has yet to be announced.
Also, with the arrival of spring weather brings a new array of spring flavors for dessert aficionados including a new citrus-inspired lineup.
Lick's Candied Orange brings candied Valencia oranges from G&S Groves mixed with a creamy orange fromage blanc ice cream. The ice cream is made with River Whey's Creamery’s St. Clements cheese.
Also, there's a new spin on the traditional flavors with Grandma’s Lemon Cake Roll. This classic buttery lemon cake is combined with tart Meyer lemon curd and cream.
Other flavors include Grapefruit with Champagne Marshmallows and a Lemon Poppy Seed that highlights Lick's house-made Texas Meyer lemon curd. Another addition is the Ruby Red Coconut, an ice cream flavor that gets its iconic zing from the Ruby Red Grapefruit from G&S Groves.
One more twist this season is the introduction of Lick's Tequila Lime Pie. This sweet lime curd is made with limes from G&S Groves and are mixed not only with a crisp graham cracker cookie, but also spiked with Austin's Dulce Vida tequila.
